Where is the workshop held?
The workshops are held in Melbourne, close to public transport and good coffee shops and on a weekend.
What do I need to bring?
Bring along a curious, open mind and a smile, everything else is provided.
How large are the workshops?
The workshop sizes are kept to a maximum of 20 participants for full day and 6 participants for half day. These are small enough to ensure that everyone has a chance to engage and discuss their situation, but large enough to have a great dynamic for sharing and learning across the group.
Am I too old for this program?
This program is designed specifically for people in their midlife ( eg 30 to 55 year old age bracket).
I'm thinking about a career that combines paid work with volunteering. Can this program help?
Absolutely, the inspiration for the program came largely from people who wanted a way to reconnect with their values and put ‘purpose’ back into their careers. The program can assist you to explore how volunteering, pro-bono consulting or joining a Board can assist to learn new skills or give back in a meaningful way.
I’ve not undertaken many workshops, do I need to talk about my private thoughts to others?
There will be a mixture of approaches, like individual reflection activities, discussions in pairs and in groups and some presentations by speakers. While there is a spirit of sharing and learning from others embedded in the program, please be reassured that you will not be asked to do or share anything you’re not comfortable with.
I really don’t know what I want to do. Is this program going to help me?
Yes, you’re a perfect candidate for this program. It has been designed to help you get started, identify your strengths, sort through conflicting thoughts that could be holding you back and help define the next steps.
I think I know what I want to do but I don't know how to get there. Is this program going to help me?
Yes, if you've already defined what you want, then the program will help you clarify the steps to get there by applying what you know to an action plan.
Wouldn't it be better for me to just go to a career coach rather than do a workshop?
If you have worked through career options and decided on a clear set of options, then yes, you may just need that extra bit of assistance to help you make the transition. If you've been to workshops before and not taken action, then you may want to reflect on what's holding you back. This program may give you some additional insights here.
